Kirja.fi is the new online bookstore of WSOY. The initial design concept was created by Saariaho Järvenpää, then elaborated by Frantic in 2021 & 2022.
Saariaho Järvenpää had designed a mobile first layout for the store and my responsibility was to expand on that design, without losing the “feel” of the original concept. The design process was done in close collaboration with Saariaho Järvenpää’s designer and, of course, the client.
In addition to being an online store that sells books, Kirja.fi also has text and video content. Category pages were designed to support bigger heroes for campaign purposes as well, thogh the site is very much planned to have continuous development to answer evolving needs.
This was my first time working with Shopify and I surely learned a lot. You can visit the live website here (and maybe buy a book or two).
